Our programs are going well. We have had three sessions of “You Have a Friend,” a grief sharing group. Those attending have experienced a good, helpful time, meeting in the Fireside Room. We had 16 to 18 participants for the first two sessions. Carol Davis facilitated the third meeting on January 23rd with her discussion of the stages or steps of grief. The group has decided to meet once a month beginning March 5th. This session will be a time for reflection and sharing, with no speaker. More sessions may be added as interest continues. Anyone who has experienced the recent loss of a spouse or other family member may sign up to attend.
The April meeting will be on the 16th. We may plan a lunch meeting then, to decide on a speaker.
Our Health & Wellness Committee has engaged Jan Revella, R.N., an Arthritis Nurse Specialist, for a program on “The Aging Spine” on Monday, February 27, 1:00-2:30 p.m. in Swain Hall. Her presentation is entitled “Back Pain Is Not Created Equal.” It will include discussion of new, less invasive surgery.
